Any good side hustles for late at night?

I have my main job which is around the hours of 8-5, it’s salaried and WFH though so basically just however long it takes to get my work done. Then I have a second job 4-10, but that’s only a few days a week.

I’m a night owl though and have lots of energy late at night. I usually stay up until like 4am or 5am. Anyone have any good side hustle suggestions for late night?

Crafting hobbies if you’re handy.

Depends on your day job, skills and lifestyle but some options could be;

  1. E-commerce. Online businesses for Etsy, drop shipping with Shopify, FBA Amazon.

  2. Tutoring. If you’re good at English, Math or Science you could work thru Chegg or Studiosity or similar.

  3. Online Survey. Very boring, I do these sometimes before I go to bed.

  4. Freelance work. Use your skills on Fiverr- this could also scale to be your sole job if all goes perfect and you open a business with it.

  5. Invest in yourself. It seems that you work yourself a lot. It’s also important to look after yourself; if that be going to the gym, running, learning a new skill, mindfulness activities, or even a hobby. Even if this isn’t putting money in your pocket right away, you’re still upgrading yourself as a person and this can help with making money later!

  6. Trading - I don’t know anything about trading, but just another thing I thought of. Would likely need 5-10k to start this though.

Hope some of these suggestions help! I am also a night owl and am often guilty of consuming TikTok and Insta reels haha.

@Diya
Thanks for the insight! I like to be productive but it’s awful hard, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. I study for certifications for work sometimes at night. I also go to the gym when I don’t work my 2nd job. Other than that, lots of time spent aimlessly scrolling on social media.

It’s really weird because I have no problems with motivating myself with work I need to get done. Like a project for work. But getting myself to start a hobby or even playing a new video game is hard for me.

@Marin
What about cooking? Not sure if you do that, but that could be a good hobby to start that also saves you money.

@Diya
How would I find businesses on Etsy that need help or drop shipping opportunities?

@Diya
Can you give me info on the online surveys?

I would just Google ‘paid surveys {your location}’. I mainly do Octopus Group surveys but have done others. Recently did one through the Raiz app actually. Just search around - I find them pretty boring so don’t do them too much tbh.

@Diya
Okay thanks I’ll look into it. How much money do you make and how long do they take?

Dumpster diving, good money reselling on eBay.

So when do you sleep?

My main job is hybrid WFH so days when I’m not out in the field, I usually sleep in until about 11 AM. The days where I do have to get up, I sleep for 4-5 hours and then take a long nap when I get back home. My sleep schedule is really not great. I wish I was a morning person, but I’ve always been a night owl so I naturally stay up late. I would probably do better with a night shift job, but in my line of work, that’s pretty few and far between.

@Marin
Your sleep schedule sounds wonderful. There are people who would kill to be able to take long naps.

This requires a hauk tua certification. Hope it’s not tough to swallow…

Why not find a hobby or something else to do with your time? Burnout is real.

I’ve been getting into DIY stuff recently. I’m working on doing some minor home repairs and renovating my house. I don’t have very many friends. No relationship or kids so I think I always like to be working or doing something with my mind to distract myself from how lonely I am if I’m being honest.

@Marin
Rather than distracting yourself from the loneliness with more work, why not try to join group activities that would increase your chances of meeting like-minded people?

I should probably try to do that more. I’m pretty introverted, so I don’t like going to things like that by myself. I’ve met a guy off Reddit in my area who I’ve met up with to play tennis, but that’s as far out of my comfort zone as I’ve gone.

@Marin
But a vending machine?
