I’m curious if anyone has created a dividend portfolio specifically to help during periods of unemployment. My goal is to build a modest portfolio that generates around $200 to $500 per month in dividends. The idea is to reinvest the dividends when I’m employed but use them as a safety net if I get laid off.
Has anyone done something similar? How did you approach building your portfolio, and did it work out as you hoped?
That’s the main idea behind passive income. While many people use it to plan for early retirement, it can also help in times of need. Yield max ETFs are quite risky. Some people think crypto staking is riskier, but I don’t agree. For example, Ethereum gives 3.5% interest compounded daily, Solana offers 7%, and Cosmos gives 16% compounded daily. Cosmos is more volatile than yield max ETFs, but the potential gains are much higher. Right now, Cosmos is $5, but it hit $50 during the last bull market in 2021, and I believe it could reach $100 next year.
Yessir! JEPQ/JEPI for monthly income and XDTE/QDTE to get paid every friday. Gettin paid for doing absolutely nothing is the epitome of passive income. +1
Absolutely, those monthly income strategies are great, especially when job situations get uncertain. JEPQ and JEPI seem like good options for steady cash flow. It’s awesome to just sit back and let the money come in. Keep building that income stream while you can
They provide weekly and monthly passive income…This month’s payouts for JEPI and JEPQ are looking good. I’ll be getting around $650 to $700 this month…
