How can I earn passive income using my skills … any ideas?

I have some skills and I’m open to suggestions for websites or platforms that could help me earn passive income:

  • PhD in cancer biology with good overall science knowledge and experience in scientific writing and lab work
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Fluent in French, as it’s my first language

Thank you for your help! I’ll have some free time soon and would love to focus on this.

Have you thought about selling laboratory medical equipment?

I honestly hadn’t considered that. I wasn’t familiar with it before your comment. But it sounds like that’s not really passive income, right?

@Lake
That would be more like a sales job. You could use your medical knowledge to set up a website to sell medical gear. It could turn into passive income as customers might reach out to you at any time.

I see a potential problem though… those areas are pretty heavily regulated in Europe. I’ll look into it more. If you know someone in that field, could you connect me with them?

Yes, the medical field does have strong regulations in Europe, but there aren’t crazy high entry barriers. I assist a client in the UK who trades and exports laboratory equipment globally. Most of their items are made in China, sourced from around 200 factories.

While this field has some higher entry requirements mainly because of the paperwork and compliance needed, the EU offers benefits like reduced VAT and tariffs on medical products, which is a big plus.

I’m also looking into the medical rehabilitation equipment market, like electric wheelchairs and ramps, which also benefit from those VAT and tariff reductions here. I have my company registered in the UK and I’m working with partners to grow this business.
