Can you provide a bit more tactical advice of how to go about breaking in? I am not OP but in a similar boat and don’t know where to begin.

  1. Decide what kind of writing you’d like to specialize in (i.e. Blog posts? Email copy? Social media content?)

  2. Create some pieces for your perfect customer and add it to a portfolio (you can also reach out to them too and worst case you have some nice writing samples).

  3. Advertise yourself on Fiverr and some of the threads here on Reddit (study the best performers and imitate their structure).

  4. Reach out to people with requirements.

  5. Add enough value to clients that they regularly use you.
