Ways for a 14-Year-Old Girl to Earn Some Money

I hope this is a good place to share this

Hi everyone, I’m 14 years old and I’m looking to make some money. In my state, I can start working at 14, but there are hardly any jobs that hire people under 16. I really want to earn some cash to do something nice for my birthday, which is coming up in about 3 weeks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I’m willing to try anything to have a fun birthday like my friends and family. Thanks for reading.

Babysitting, raking leaves? Long-term, focusing on your studies and volunteering could be your best bet. They’ll help you a lot in the future.

I already have straight A’s and I’ve been volunteering for the upcoming elections. Thanks for the suggestions.

@Leighton
Volunteering for elections might not be the best choice unless you’re thinking of a career in politics. Good luck!

I’m doing the political volunteering because it’s part of a government class I need for my junior year.

That’s interesting, but maybe look into volunteering with other groups? Environmental or hospital groups can be great too. Employers really appreciate volunteer work—it could be a deciding factor in landing a good job.

Consider pressure washing if that’s a service needed in your area.

Ask your neighbors if they need any help with jobs like babysitting, cleaning, or running errands. You could also check with local stores to see if they need weekend help. Often you can snag a job this way, even if they aren’t actively hiring. Good luck and Happy Birthday!

I remember having a tough time finding ways to make money at your age too. Just a quick note—please be cautious of scammers online, especially when it comes to making money. Lots of people offer help but can end up taking advantage of you. Keep this in mind and good luck!

Thank you so much

Look for thrift shops and flea markets to find underpriced clothes, vintage toys, or other items, and sell them online for profit! For instance, Goodwill might sell a shirt for $5, but online it could be worth $25. List it on eBay or Facebook Marketplace and you could make a nice profit after shipping and fees!

Could everyone please report this comment? I believe it’s not right to suggest that when the original poster is clearly a minor.
