After researching Tether’s history (watching Coffeezilla videos is a great idea!), I soon concluded that using USDT is not something I want to do. It failed my own diligence test. Still, I see USDT being utilized extensively in AMM, on platforms, on bridges, etc.
Given that there are objectively superior options (DAI, USDC), why is USDT still in existence anymore? Following its public controversy, shouldn’t the community boycott and cease holding/using this token?
In the end, more newcomers to the cryptocurrency world may believe that the token is just “another USD pegged reserve token” that is well managed the more popular it gets. But this is not accurate.
How do you feel? What am I missing here?
