Any Tips on How to Spot Emerging Online Side-Hustles?

Hey folks,

I’ve spent the last 3 years trying to make money from popular side hustles on major platforms, with little success. I’ve realized that intense competition and poor timing might be the culprits.

Every search for new opportunities seems to lead to overhyped paid ads. So I’m turning to you:

  1. How do you discover legitimate side gigs before they become oversaturated?
  2. Are there any reliable sources or communities you follow for fresh opportunities?
  3. What strategies do you use to develop a “radar” for emerging side hustles?

I’d love to hear your experiences and tips.

Hey man, I tried some ways to make money like surveys & wasn’t going anywhere… Where I did find success in high time/value ratio is collecting online sweepstakes bonuses. There are like 20+ sites in the US & you just collect daily or so… Passive? Not quite, because you have to manually click and track bonuses. However, there is a Chrome extension I’ve used that automates the collecting & balance tracking. I have my wife and I on it and we average $13/day each!

If you use your computer once a day & are a bit tech savvy, this is a legitimate way to start building consistent income without putting in any money.

It’s a little buggy on some sites, but most sites are flawless. So, if I intervene, I spend maybe 5-10 minutes a day and earn $13/day. If I’m gone for the weekend, my partner and I usually clear $10/day. So no effort there when I leave my PC on 24/7.

Can I do this too if I don’t live in the US? Is there a way around it wink wink?

Unfortunately, this strategy is only for the US and Canada (limited).

@Reagan
Also, can you name some sweepstakes, please?

The popular ones are Stake, Chumba, Zula, Fortune Coins, Sportzino, etc.

How does one go about this? My mom is looking for something to do from home. She’s 75, retired, & has a lot of time on her hands.

Hey man! Yeah, if she has access to a computer once a day and is willing to learn some of the finer details, it’d be consistent income and something to do for fun lol. I would check out this sheet of the most popular online sweepstakes and maybe sign up for the top 5 to get a feel for it. Link If after that she’s willing to optimize for $13+/day (maybe with her tech-savvy son’s help), I’d consider the auto collector software I mentioned earlier. Check out Sweeps-app.Vercel.app.

I’m in Texas, which doesn’t have legal online gambling. Would I be able to do this as well?

I guess just being in the online space, like keeping up with trends and seeing what’s in and out, etc.

Quit being a jerk, mate. The dude tried to help and somebody asked for a detail; should they gatekeep it?

  1. Keep your ears and eyes open and just try things. Crypto is still in its infancy. The problem is that most people dismiss anything new and won’t try until they see someone else making millions. Don’t be like them. People dismissed almost every side hustle I tried. They laughed until it succeeded. 2. Discuss with everyone. Join communities. Be patient. 3. Just be curious about everything. One thing often leads to another. You never know. Also, just trying stuff. Experimenting.

Most side hustles are not saturated, though. Many tried and trusted ones still work. I did these… Link. They will still work.

I stay away from side hustles that sound like get-rich-quick schemes. For example, using AI to create images and sell them on Etsy. Yes, it will work for a very few, but the majority are just looking to do minimal work. Choose something that takes more work; the competition will be much lower because most are too lazy to work.

Mention $1,000 a month for an hour’s work a month, and the lazy hordes will all want to try it. Mention 3 hours a day for $1,000 a month, and you’ll get ignored. People in general are just too lazy.

TikTok is where I find emerging online side hustles.

I read this newsletter with top digital businesses for sale; the insights are insane, and to be fair, I get loads of ideas from it. I’ve actually bought a couple of decent businesses from there, mainly because some absolute gems come up, and I find it hard to resist a bit more passive income! Definitely gives me an edge over others because I get to keep up with the trends on what is actually making money.
