I’ve spent the past 6 months trying to find ‘side hustles,’ but most of them are either for adults (requiring identification to get started) or just don’t provide suitable money. I’m 15 years old, and my mum has been using the same phone for the past few years. It’s crappy, freezes every hour or so, and has limited abilities and storage. I want to get my mum the iPhone 16 Pro. I can’t do any side hustles in real life, only online.
The last thing I need is for people to tell me to do dropshipping, surveys, an IRL side hustle, or to buy my mum a different phone that’s more affordable. Any other tips or suggestions would help me out a lot. Thanks!
Bro, get her a refurbished 15 instead. The 16 is actually so much she’ll never enjoy it knowing how much it took you to get. I have no idea how you’re gonna make that money though.

I’m thinking about doing that. The difference between a refurbished 15 and a brand new 16 is only a couple hundred dollars, but I want to be sure of how I can earn the money first. Then I can think about which phone is the best option.
Why get your mom the iPhone 16 Pro? There are tons of phones for $200 in the market that are pretty sufficient. Mow some grass, sell some lemonade, get busy, but don’t expect to grind for months and waste your money when it’s much easier and smarter the other way.
Enjoy being 15; you will have all the time in the world for side hustles. I say this as someone who made my first million in my 20s. Slow down and enjoy being a kid. I have friends in the same position as me who didn’t enjoy their childhood, and they are a lot less happy in general.
Hey man, we start and manage Etsy stores for others, so we could do this for you as well. It has to be done through your mother though since you are underage. We usually average $1,000-$3,000 each month in profit within a couple of months. If interested, ask your mom and see what she says. We could have a call with her and explain everything.
Outlier was awesome, but for a while now they have been pretty chaotic. Still good money though!
I applied to Outlier about a month ago but have heard nothing. I felt so sure my CV showed I was ideal for one of their roles. Should I have heard back already? What was your experience?
@Koa
It was a little different for me as they approached me through LinkedIn to work on German projects. I was working on my first task within days and got my payment in the same week. A friend of mine applied and heard back from them after 2-3 weeks. Maybe they just have a lot of applications, but I wouldn’t lose hope as they’re always hiring. For which language did you apply?
@Corey
Oh, it’s super cool that they approached you. I’ve heard of a few people (not necessarily great at writing) through friends of friends who work for them, so they are definitely hiring, but I think the adverts mentioned something about hearing back within a week. I would have thought I’d be an ideal candidate but perhaps not.
I applied for two English language roles, so I imagine they’re very popular.
@Koa
You don’t necessarily have to be good at writing to do good work there. Most of the time you just compare stuff and need to explain what one did better than the other. But yeah, English probably is pretty popular. You could try to apply for math or IT tasks if you are any good with it. Maybe check out Alignerr too; they let you sign up and do some tests before interviewing. I signed up today and didn’t start yet, so I can’t tell much more about it.
