[Question] 20-year-old College Student with $200 - How Can I Turn This Into More Money?

Hello guyz

I’m a 20-year-old college student, and I lost my job after my former employer didn’t pay me for 80+ hours of work (I’ve filed a wage claim, but it’s a slow process). I have $200 left and need ideas on how to make more money with what I’ve got. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated…

You could try pressure washing garbage cans. It’s super simple, and I make decent money doing it as a side hustle. You can rent a 1,800 psi unit, buy some cleaning supplies (gloves, masks, bleach, Zep degreaser, Fabuloso, and a pump sprayer), and you’re ready to go. Knock on doors after trash day and offer to clean cans for $10 each. It only takes about 5 minutes to clean one can, so you can make good money quickly.

@Alden
I like the simplicity and low start-up cost of this idea. How long have you been doing it, and what percentage of people say yes when you knock on their door?

Look for deeply discounted items in local stores, then try to resell them online via eBay or Amazon for closer to full retail price. You could also focus on unique regional items and see if there’s a market for them online.

I do digital marketing as a side hustle from home. It’s part-time, and you could definitely do it while in school. I’d love to share more details with you if you’re interested.

How much do you make doing digital marketing? How many hours do you work?

I didn’t get anything in my inbox.

You could try creating digital products and selling them online. It’s advertised as a great way to make passive income, but creating a good digital product that actually sells takes time and effort.

I love how the OP asked for passive income ideas, and almost everyone is suggesting side hustles. Except for the alchemy comment, which was golden!

With just $200, passive income isn’t realistic. OP needs to hustle with that $200 to make more.
