What are some of the most profitable items to sell on Etsy?

What items do you all think make the most money? And how about what items make money with also a minimal cost to create that item?

In my experience, the profitable move was to set up a Shopify site so I could sell my product without being undercut by every other similar product also popping up.

How did you end up funneling leads at first?

@Ming
I didn’t really funnel leads, just actively participated on relevant forums, and let the enthusiasts spread the word.

Hi, I’m dumb. By digital patterns do you mean like those clothing blueprints?

@Baer
Thanks!

Be careful with crochet patterns. The crochet community is very strong and if the pattern is created using AI, you will be blasted in all the communities.

Yes, or knitting or whatever.

Whatever furniture you can find in the trash that’s free and can clean up and repair yourself. Coffee tables, end tables, bookshelves, chairs, desks, hutches, TV stands, dressers, etc. Wood is the easiest to work with, in my opinion. A good sand, wood patch, paint, and a good varnish or epoxy. Some of the bigger items if they look like new and are refurbished well can sell for a few hundred dollars to over $1000.

Main item you’re selling is free. A lot of the tools you can get cheap off marketplace if you don’t have some already. Only real things to buy are paints and finishers.

@Riley
What about shipping? Sounds expensive. How do you handle that?

Local pick up only. Yeah, shipping that big stuff would be a nightmare lol.

I build and sell chess sets and puzzle boxes… I do pretty well.

Something you don’t hate to make that is easy to scale but niche enough to not be overly competitive.

Do you have craft skills already or are you learning something just to make cash?

No skills yet, looking to pick up a hobby.

Very interesting. How is the saturation? It seems like there’s a lot of supply. Is the demand catching up with the supply, especially as AI gets more advanced in this area?

@Hayden
I don’t think it’s over-saturated at all but that’s just my perspective. More and more people are starting to learn and sell digital products alone. It all depends on what problem you’re trying to solve for others online.

@Miller
Thanks for your perspective.
