What Are the Experiences of People Making Money with Neighbor.com?

Hey guys, I’ve got this two-car garage just sitting there unused, and I’m thinking of listing it on Neighbor.com. But I’m a bit worried about sketchy people storing who-knows-what in there. Has anyone here tried using this site before? What were your experiences like?

I’m curious to hear other people’s experiences too! Right now, I’m shelling out around $120 a month on a storage unit. It’d be great to just pay someone to store my extra furniture and stuff in their garage or shed. But it almost sounds too good to be true, and I’m worried about risking my belongings. People in my area are offering storage spaces for as low as $30 a month, which seems unreal.

How about getting three people to rent out the same garage? You could give them all access to the front, then section off three compartments with locks. That way, it’s $90 a month. And if you push it to $35 a month, that’s $105 total. I think it’s worth a shot!

I listed my small shed on Neighbor about a year ago, and I’ve been getting $28 a month for it. The lady who rents it from me hardly ever bothers me - she just texts if she needs to grab something, which isn’t often. So far, my experience has been pretty smooth, and I’ve made around $350 from it.

I’m a single guy in my thirties with two male roommates, and we don’t have any kids at home or anything super valuable lying around, so I wasn’t too worried about sketchy characters.

Just to clarify, I own the house, so I can’t speak to the experience of subletting a rental property.
